Blog Growing Pains: 5 Things to Remember

Starting a new blog and watching it grow can be both exciting and disheartening all at the same time. It is all part of the process and growing pains.

But I am here for you. Below are 5 things to keep in mind while your blog is going through growing pains.

#1 Everyone Goes Through It

Every blogger’s new blog has gone through growing pains. Some have gone through it longer than others, but we’ve all been there. Don’t let anyone sell you snake oil. Blogging is hard and getting your blog noticed is even harder. But know you are not alone. If you need moral support and/or a quick pick me up, please feel free to contact me.

#2 Don’t Lose Heart

That enthusiasm you had when you started your blogging journey, needs to continue. It is human nature to desire quick results, but it will take time. Don’t be discouraged and don’t give up. Your desired results will come as long as you keep working on your blog and keep your eyes on the prize.

#3 Polish Your Content

Go through all of your best content every now and again to polish the copy/call to action and also to fix any mistakes you might have missed.

#4 Every Blogger Is Different

Getting advice from other professional bloggers is great, but don’t fall into the trap that their formula will work for everyone. Not all bloggers are the same or fall into the same niche. Some of us are introverts while others of us are extroverts. Everyone’s process is different. What works for one – even in the same niche – may not work for another. Find what works best for you.

#5 It Takes Time

If you don’t remember anything else, please remember this. It may take one whole month before your blog starts receiving a good amount of traffic and that’s OK. Just accept this and continue to push out great content and work on your blog’s SEO. Pinterest and Twitter are ok, but Google will become your best friend.
